Amherst Sandstone Village German Fest

Event Overview

The 6th annual German Fest held at the Amherst Sandstone Center will feature activities for the young and old alike. Horse rides, ballooning, art and face painting and more for the kids. An 1800s school program and a quilt show will take place at St. George's Chapel.  Music-lovers can step to the sounds of polka, a German brass band and the Hank Haller Ensemble throughout the day. Amherst Sandstone Village buildings will be open for tours from 1-9pm, a perfect chance to learn about life in the olden days of Amherst. Docents dressed in period garb will lead the tours of unique historic buildings including an Octagonal Barn, Blacksmith Shop, Chapel, Pig Barn and Art Gallery. Admission to the German Fest is $5, children ages six and younger are free. German-style food, pastries and beer will be served.
